The Australian stock market was trading marginally higher on Friday, extending previous sessions gains, despite a negative lead from Wall Street overnight. In the local market, mining and energy stocks lead the gainers as commodities continue to rise, while financial stocks fall
In the resources sector, index leader BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto are both gaining 4.64%. Gold miners were stronger, after gold closed higher on Thursday, snapping third straight session of gains.
