VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 2003

North American Gem Inc. is pleased to provide the following update.

Bonaparte Property:

Compilation of assaying results from the work program at Bonaparte, near Kamloops, B.C. continues, and the company is pleased to provide the following update. A total of fifteen holes totaling 652 meters (2139 feet) have been drilled to date. The holes are in the process of being plotted up on plan and sections. Various measurements may alter slightly when this is done. All values are in gold per metric tonne. Most of the samples were analysed by ICP and assayed for gold at Eco Tech labs in Kamloops, with the remaining samples analysed by ICP at Acme Laboratories in Vancouver. All core samples were split with diamond saw, and have been stored at the property and are available for inspection. All work has been performed under the supervision of Egil Livgard, P.Eng, who is the qualified person on the Bonaparte Property work program.

The following surface sampling and diamond drillingDiamond Drilling is a highly specialized industry used for mineral exploration around the world. Most commonly using wireline and core bits with diamond encrusted matrix. To drill holes to max depths of twelve thousand feet, for the recovery of core used in verifying mineral results have been obtained and compiled to date:

Surface sampling of the Eagle Vein system over a length of 14 meters has assayed at an average grade of 9.21 g/tonne (0.26 oz/tonne) of gold, over an average width of 1.35 meters. These results ranged from a section grading 0.19 g/tonne over 1.5 meter width to a 1.2 meter wide sample that returned assays of 53.9 g/tonne of gold. The full width of the vein at that location was not fully exposed, due to the depth of the trench. Trench samples were taken at 2.0 meter intervals along the newly exposed vein system. All samples were over the exposed width of the vein where visible.

Results from eight diamond drill holes, carried out along strike of the southern extension of the Grey Jay pit discovered through the Companies 2003 trenching program, has been received and compiled. All holes were drilled to test the underground existence of the vein structure, in order to ascertain whether the vein system discovered below the Grey Jay pit in previous drill programs extends southwardsouth·ward

south
below the recently trenched southern extension of the vein system. The drilling program on the Grey Jay vein system southern extension has returned the following results (All figures, unless stated, are grams per metric tonne):

Diamond drill hole Crow #1 (drilled at Azimuth 280 deg., dip -45 deg) collared approximately 87 meters south of the existing pit.

A quartz vein which appears to be a southern extension of the old Grey Jay - Crow vein system, was intersected at a vertical depth of 16 meters over a true width of about 0.9 meters (the true dip of the vein is not known with high accuracy and the true width may vary slightly). The vein assayed 0.14g gold.

Diamond drill hole Crow #2 (drilled at Azimuth 280 deg., dip -65 deg) collared from same location as Crow #1. The quartz vein was intersected at a vertical depth of 31m over a true width of about 0.92 m. It assayed 2.56g gold, with repeat assays of 2.48g and 5.89g.

Diamond drill hole #3 (drilled at Azimuth 260 deg., dip -65 deg) collared from same location as Crow #1. A quartz vein was intersected at a vertical depth of 18.0m over a core length of 1.2m. It assayed 3.83g gold - repeat assays gave 3.59g and 2.72g. This is not the Crow vein and the dip and therefore its true width is unknown. The Crow vein was intersected at a vertical depth of 36m, where the vein had an indicated width of about 0.15m. A sample of about 1.4m, which included the vein, was assayed and returned a value of 0.65g gold.

Diamond Drill Hole #4 (drilled at Azimuth 270 deg., dip -45 deg, collared 20 meters north of drill holes 1 through 3). The quartz vein was intersected at a vertical depth of 19.5m over a true width of 1.2m. It assayed 31.7g gold repeat assay gave 26.7g.

Diamond Drill Hole #5 (drilled at Azimuth 270 deg., dip -65 deg) collared from same location as Crow #4. The quartz vein was intersected at a vertical depth of 23m over a true width of 1.65m. The vein assayed 16.3g gold.

Diamond Drill Hole #6 (drilled at Azimuth 280 deg., dip -65 deg) collared from same location as Crow #4. The quartz vein was intersected at a vertical depth of 35m over a true width of 0.4m. Samples of the vein and adjoining rock gave values of less than 0.1g gold. At a vertical depth of 38m a 5m to 6m length of core had numerous narrow sheeted quartz stringers. A sample over 3.0m of core assayed 2.86g gold - and a repeat assay of 1.81g gold. Additional samples of the core around this sample will be split.

Diamond Drill Hole #7 (drilled at Azimuth 270 deg., dip -45 deg) collared 20m north of drill holes 4 through 6). The vein was intersected at a vertical depth of 19.5m over a true width of 0.8m. The assay of the vein and 0.5m of adjoining rock gave 1.18g gold.

Diamond Drill Hole #8 (drilled at Azimuth 250 deg., dip -45 deg) collared from same location as Crow #7. Two quartz veins were intersected at vertical depths of 21m and 22.5m. The first vein had a true width of 1.1m and together with 0.15m of rock assayed 0.52g gold. The second vein had a true width of 0.8m and assayed 1.45g gold. The rock between the veins (1.4m) gave less than 0.1g.

Samples from several diamond drill holes targeting the Eagle and Ravenraven, common name for the largest member of the family Corvidae (crow family), ranging throughout the arctic and temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. The raven, Corvus corax, is a glossy black scavenging bird about 26 in. vein systems are in for assay. Assay results will be announced as soon as received and compiled.

The two diamond drill holes previously reported for drill holes #4 and #5 which gave good values of 31.7g/tonne and 16.3 g/tonne respectively, are the downward extension (23 meters) of the previously reported surface samples from the Crow Vein (see November 17, 2003 news release). The surface results for this section of the Crow Vein included a 10 meter length which assayed 11.59 g/tonne gold over an average width of 1.2 meters (which included a sample grading 43 g/tonne gold over a width of 1.0 meters), and a 12 meter length which assayed 5.68 g/tonne gold over an average width of 1.88 meters.
