REX NROrex Minerals Commences Drilling at Zambranena

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Apr 27, 2009 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --
Orex Minerals Inc. (formerly Orex Ventures Inc.) (TSX VENTURE: REX) announces the commencement of its drilling program, consisting of a planned eight holes within its Santa Cruz Project in Durango State, Mexico; a joint venture with Silverex S.A. de C.V.("Silverex").
Located in the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains, Otaez Municipality, midway between Tayoltita (San Dimas) and Topia mining camps, the Santa Cruz Project lies within one of the World's most prolific mineral belts. Santa Cruz hosts epithermal gold-silver mineralization. The property encompasses three main gold-silver bearing districts, the Eastern, Central and Western, as well as the previously operating Santa Cruz Mine.
Drilling of the first hole commenced April 23. The hole is located in front of the Zambranena mine portal in the Western District and is expected to cut the Zambranena vein and other vein structures in the footwall.
