RE: teck cancels deal with eagle

RE: teck cancels deal with eagleAJ,  Thanks for the update on Eagle Plains.  Don't own the shares but like the business model and the people, and intend to keep an eye on it going forward, especially as the global economy improves and venture capital markets recover.

Selwyn Resources has a FD market cap of $20MM
Eagle Plains has a FD market cap of $14MM

Eagle Plains has been exploring for and finding gold.  I am not a "gold nut", believe that the price of gold will decline in the immediate future but have been looking at a couple of deposit-rich gold juniors with a view to possibly buying later in the year.  Not sure I'd pick Eagle Plains ahead of other candidates but additional information and views would be most welcome.

Back to zinc and lead.  I suspect that the dissolution of the strategic partnership between Teck and Eagle Plains reflects Teck's view that base metal markets will remain in the dumps for several years.  Of course, Teck is having well known debt problems and it could be that Teck was simply unwilling to risk more capital in the Mackenzie Mountain area of western NWT given more pressing needs for any and all available pennies.
