RE: Pesticides not the only concern

RE: Pesticides not the only concernUnfortunately the problem of leaching nutrients from fields, lawns and gardens into water sources has been brought on by the invention of synthetic fertilizer. But very little is still being done or enforced in order to mitigate the problem. Society is as addicted to the cheap fertilizers as it is to gasoline.

It will be time before the public is induced into a frenzy by well deserved media attention to the problems of synthetic fertilizers, water eutrophication, ground water contamination and degrading soil quality.

Once that happens then true organically produced fertilizers will solidify a foothold in the marketplace and a bubble will be blown. But who knows when that will be...

But for now, fortunately, worm castings are catching on with people who enjoy the finer things in life! Check out this video and do some research on this worm castings producer in the states. Worm power. If you have switched from white pasta to whole wheat pasta, or from imported California produce to organic produce then you probably notice the lack of substance in the cheaper mass produced stuff. Looks like it's the same with the 50 vineyards that buy worm castings from Worm Power. They have better tasting wine because complex soil produces a more complex taste.
