Sphalerite is often confused for tetrahedrite or other minerals but sphalerite's characteristic light (yellow to brown) streak can give it away. This may have been the reason why the point was made in the press release to describe the drill core as having "sooty black streaks". And this being the Silver Valley, it would be unusual for the tetrahedrite to not have any silver. The same goes for galena.
