RE: Investing Novice
RE: Investing NoviceHi Buddha,
I have been with questrade for a couple years now. Great trading service for $5 or $10 per trade depending on # of shares. Sometimes you have to pay more with the exchange fees added on but that's true of any trading platform and it takes awhile to learn all the rules.
I have a regular trading account, my RRSP trading account and I recently opened a TFSA. What's really convenient for me is the ability to simply transfer from my regular trading account to RRSP or TFSA.
At times they really annoy me when stocks move from say the Venture exchange to the Toronto exchange there seems to always be problems. Phoning can be on hold for a very long time but they do have a live help feature where you can online chat with an investment representative. That works much better for me as I can't be on the phone for hours at a time. I am an active trader so I think I notice the troubles more than some. Overall hearing other people's annoyance with their accounts I think Questrade is probably better and the fees and trading work really well. Trades tend to open immediately. You can get real time quotes on several stocks at the same time etc. I am very pleased I left TD. I still bank with them and don't plan on leaving but trading stocks works better elsewhere IMO.
