RE: Re Canada DayI'm an American who lived in Canada for three years.  Arthur's comments seem unduly harsh about how others see Canada.  My impressions of Canada were then and remain appreciative.  One thread that seems to run through Canada's diverse and complex tapestry is respect for human dignity. 

Our world, our hemisphere, and our continent are riddled with difficult challenges.  I don't know enough history to disagree with Arthur's portrayal, but my sense is that our world, our hemispere, and our continent recognize Canada as a stabilizing and positive presence.  I do. 

My gratitude and best wishes for Canada Day.
