HOD is denominated in Canadian dollars. Any U.S. dollar gains or losses as a result of the ETFs investment are hedged back to the Canadian dollar to the best of its ability. In order to achieve this objective, the total underlying notional value of these instruments and/or securities will typically not exceed two times the total assets of the ETF. As such, HOD employs absolute leverage.

Hahaha..shorts were already lost by the so called Financial Dummies Advisors and their reccomended funds..Been lazy with my investments in the past so now I have to take care of it. This means coming out of my premature retirement and no more sleeping isince i am on the west coast. Oh well, at least I am having fun (on some days) trading and reading blogs.

Yea, HOD correlates crude oil in %. Just have to buy more to get the gain (or loss) !
