OA of knees = no big deal

OA of knees = no big dealIt's my understanding that a doc in the USA can prescribe an approved drug for something other than what is on the label (correct me if wrong).  Surely many docs would recognize that if Pennsaid works on knees it ought to be at least as effective on smaller joints. 

Interesting to see that research was conducted at the request of Covidien ("The majority of the significant decrease in the quarter was due to a $0.9 million reimbursementreceived from Covidien for specific research and development costsincurred by Nuvo prior to signing the licensingagreement.")  Might that have been the additional information that triggered the 3 month delay?
