ELKO,Nev.—Nevada state environmental protection regulators say they'renearing an agreement with Yukon-Nevada Gold Corp. subsidiary QueenstakeResources to restart the Jerritt Canyon mill 50 miles north of Elko.
Nevada Division of Environmental Protection spokeswoman Jill Lufrano says a consent decree should be finalized soon.
NDEP ordered the mill closed May 30 for failure to install equipment to control mercury air emissions.
Vancouver, British Columbia-based Yukon-Nevada said needed parts didn't arrive in time.
Itremoved operator Golden Eagle International Inc. from the mill June 10,and Yukon-Nevada President Robert Baldock announced this week thecompany raised the money to restart the mill.
A company spokeswoman now calls the mill "operationally ready to go."
