RE: RE: RE: RE: Buy outI said that at this point I would not invest millions but if the news is really over the top some of the big companies may make a move to buy in at this low price. The Big Pharma will know from the test results if this could potentially be big... that is their job.
"After compounds are received at the NCI Repository, they are assigned an identifying NSC number, inventoried and placed into the screening queue. All subsequent communications regarding a compound should include its NSC number. When complete, screening results together with information on any DTP recommendations for further evaluation of compounds can be retrieved by logging into the secure DTP Compound Submission Application and clicking on "View Tests" at the bottom of the page. The Biological Evaluation Committee (BEC), comprised of DTP staff, reviews data for compounds, and may select compounds for additional studies. The BEC review is based upon a number of criteria including compound "drugability," novelty of structure and mechanism of action, potency and cell panel selectivity. The supplier will be contacted for additional compound supply and/or information if the BEC recommends further testing."
From the last part I read that DTP staff has decided alone that they wanted to test further and contacted Gap for additional compound supply and/or information, that is what probably caused the leak last week. Big Pharma will be looking for those results and buy in before the prices go through the roof. The way of the future is to buy these little companies instead of spending billions in R&D... they are not going to wait until it is a finished product on a silver platter. We don't wait to buy stocks until they are already successful... we do our DD and get in when we see that there is potential. My point was that with the information we have on the table today, investing $100,000 is reasonable. To invest millions I would want a little more information.
