TNR Gold rose 3.5 cents, or 11 per cent, to 35.5 cents, bringinggains for the week to 37 per cent. The Vancouver-based companyannounced plans in April to spin off a portfolio of lithium and rareearth metals properties into a new public company later this year.

Shares of Vancouver-based TNR Gold added two cents to 23 cents,extending a run that has seen a three-fold rise in the stock in thepast two months. The local junior has been acquiring interests inlithium projects as far afield as Nevada, Ontario, the NorthwestTerritories, Ireland, and Argentina in recent months. CEO GarySchellenberg announced April 27 that the company would spin its lithiumand rare-earth projects into a new company, International Lithium to be 75-per-cent owned by TNR shareholders.
