Vulcan Minerals Inc.: Drilling Update

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2009)- Vulcan Minerals Inc. ("the Company") (TSX VENTURE:VUL) is pleased toannounce that the Vulcan -Investcan Robinson's #1 well, onshore westernNewfoundland, is currently drilling ahead at 3440 metres. Drillingoperations were suspended for 4 days last week due to mechanical rigrepair downtime. The well is a frontier wildcat well designed to test aseismically defined structure in the Carboniferous aged Bay St Georgebasin. It is being drilled pursuant to a 50/50 joint venture withInvestcan Energy Corporation. The well has a projected total depth of3600 metres. It is anticipated that it will take 10-14 days to finishdrilling and carry out the necessary evaluation of the well.
