Re: Negative environment on this ATY boardI agree, this board has become a mudslinging site for about 3 or 4 people, which is sad. I threw out a question or 2 a few days ago and the great sages, such as ATI Guy and Benchabot, never even bothered to comment. I was a just a tad surprised to see that. I always thought of myself as a pretty level headed guy that deserved to be heard and replied to. Go figure.
In any case, it appears that the market is viewing the upcoming financials with a degree of caution and trepidation. Personally, I'm sick of
hearing it but, sadly, I have to agree : that if earnings meet expectations the stock will slip, albeit it slightly. Ultimately, the fact remains that the stock is up about 50% over fairly recent lows so I force myself to maintain perspective. I have a rather large position and my dream would be to take profit with 1/2 of my holdings at $38 (post financials) and then hold the other 1/2 for another 24 months. I need new underwear and I have to repaint my RX-7. The cash would be handy.
ATI has been called an up-and-coming graphics chip juggernaut. Basically, a medium-term oligopoly player of great importance in the world market. Why this rapidly intensifying reality hasn't been more firmly discounted into the price of this equity is completely beyond me. The continuing price churning surrounding ATI may make sense to some of you, but to me it remains a mystery.
