Missouri Cobalt
Missouri CobaltGentlemen, I don't want to argue with other peoples vague recollections and opinions. The Missouri cobalt district is the second largest known cobalt occurance in the United States. This from a l962 Department of Interior survey on cobalt. The Madison Mine was also the second largest producer of cobalt in the United States, behind the Blackbird Mine in Idaho. This area has produced cobalt since the early 1900's according to Missouri DNR.
If you want facts, read the information circular on sedar. Drill results are included and they are every bit as good as the Idaho deposits. These are Mississippi Valley Type deposits that are only 300-400 feet deep and like all of the Missouri mines can be mined by room and pillar (cheap).
Not many know about this property because it has been in private hands for 20 years and no information has been published. It is PRIVATE property, permitting through the federal system is not an issue. The known resource is defined by nearly 600 core holes, some drilled by Falconbridge - this is not a dream.
Read the Information Circular if you want facts. The USGS knows very well about this property.
It doesn't take anything away from FCO IMO. It may just raise the awareness of cobalt - hardly anyone knows what the metal does in the first place.
Alex, do some homework. You've always impressed me as someone who wants to know the real story.
The price of cobalt is up! FCO is up! I wish success to both companies.
