NAG has permits to utilze auger/highwall mining.
I've attached a photo for you to understand that this is the cheapest, fastest and most economical coal mining metod there is. You are not drilling down - you drill sideways into the exposed seam and the coal spins out onto a convor into a truck and off we go to the mill.
These auger have the ability to mine 200 ft into the seam before moving onto the next hole
