Time to compare and cotrast...then sellBOUCHERVILLE, Que. - French billionaire Vincent Bollore is joining the global rush to build electric batteries for the vehicles of tomorrow.
And he's setting up shop near Montreal.
EFL makes the same claim but NO billionaire to back it up just a few paltry million bucks promised by McGuinty. No doubt with strings attached.
Bollore announced Tuesday his company, Bollore Group, will invest $120 million in a battery-producing factory east of Montreal.
This guy actually does what he says. EFL: claimed aerospace, tablets, cell phones, not ev's then yes to evs blah blah blah and delivered NO significant contracts.
Bollore wins.
The batteries will be built using lithium-metal-polymer technology, which give his cars a range of 250 kilometres and a top speed of 130 km/hr.
EFL delivers a super duper city car (golfcart by my definition). What are people going to spend $35000 on? a car that can go 40 or 130?
Bollore wins
He hailed the technology as safer than the lithium-ion power plants that major automakers, such as General Motors and Nissan, are counting on to propel their upcoming lines of electric cars.
EFL CEO did not answer quetion on whether his batteres blow up with a simple "no". Other than that I seem to remember their batteries puffing up and smoking. Eid the EFL Maya 100 not catch fire at one of those competitions and were they not beaten by a bunch of student?
Seems to me Bollore wins this one nice and easy
Bollore said the lithium-ion batteries, often used in laptops and mobile phones, have been known to overheat.
"For a car, of course, it would be very dangerous," he said in an interview.
Bollore is right. Bollore wins. Tata/Mjobil apparently have chosen to go Korean.
"It's the first big factory in the world for (lithium-metal-polymer batteries)."
He plans to hire 200 new workers - on top of the 70 employees already working at the facility - to build batteries that will be used in electric cars and buses.
EFL has what 50 and "alludes" to a couple of hundred? Is EFL going to pay Asian minimum wages? Bollore already beats EFL with 70 employees and has the funds to hire 200 more. The large autmakers have not announced any contracts with EFL. Will they go with Bollore who can afford to invest and mass producte batteries? What do ya think?
Bollore wins
Last year, Forbes listed Bollore among the richest people on Earth, worth an estimated US$1.4 billion.
Sanky does not quite match up.
Bollore wins.
