Now that is interesting. I don't view installing Windows 7 as difficult, simply tedious. But then my hard drive is partitioned and you are probably referring to PC users that don't know what a "hard drive partition" is.
I've heard analysts saying Microsoft is a good pick because the Windows 7 operating system is a strong, efficiency-enhancing release. (My wife currently works with the Windows 7 Beta release candidate and it works flawlessly; I installed it on a new AMD machine bought earlier this year.) I never understood the lofty valuations of Microsoft and have thus stayed away.
Windows 7 will want more RAM than Windows XP and upgrading the entire PC will be cost effective in many cases. How does an ordinary retail investor bet on this expected increase in PC sales? Are there any PC manufacturers with great growth prospects (and reasonable valuations)?
