AGRIUM INC T.AGU

"With more than 1,400 retail centers, Canada-based Agrium is the largest agricultural retailer in the United States, selling fertilizers, crop chemicals, and seed directly to farm customers. The company's wholesale business produces and markets the three main crop nutrients--nitrogen, potash, and phosphate--with natural resources located mainly in Canada and the United States. The bulk of Agrium's sales are generated in the U.S., Canada, and Australia."

Best and final offer

Best and final offerWith the revised offer to CF of $45 + 1 AGU, questions abound. Is Terra now backing Agrium's play, with the expectation of being taken over itself in due course? Will CF's board cave by the new deadline of November 18? Will droves of CF shareholders flock to Agrium's defense? Is Agrium's stock price rising on the expectation that the deal will go through, or that it wont? I'm betting on the deal going through eventually, but the games may not be over.
