RE: Ontario solar market
Reduce
No doubt you are right on with Xantrex coming into Ontario. I note they have now set up a workshop as Sustainable has done at the Harbourfront Harbour Castle hotel on Dec. 6th. Sustainable's is Dec. 9th. I am attending the Sustainable one with my significant other for two reasons. One, as an investor to see the effectiveness of their presentation and two, as an interested party in a solar system for my home. If anyone else is attending they could inbox me and we might meet at the presentation and say hello.
Xantrex has two workshops, one for Off Grid and the other for On Grid applications.
Sustainable has one on Commercial Rooftop Solar.
Xantrex is on Residential, small commercial and 3 phase.
It gives an indication what market each is going after. I hope we are not missing the boat by only concentrating on the Commercial market and not the home market. There could be a lot of inverters in that market. Since we are concentrating on Thin Film, I also hope we are not overlooking the standard panel markets which SET's product is geared towards. But I am sure the company has it's reasons and DH certainly has no doubt done their DD.
But it definitely shows that Xantrex will not be out of the picture in Ontario. They will be announcing at least an assembly plant in Ontario before long no doubt. These workshops are meant for the Ontario Solar market for sure.
I still believe that with Xantrex's position on the world markets, their owners Schneider Electric would have an interest in SET's technology if it is what it touts itself to be. They bought out Xantrex at $15 a share but Xantrex also had many products and an established market. Not a comparable entity at this point. But in the future........??
