GEN 1
I wouldn't get too much hope up for GEN 1. Except for the one contract, we sold basically nothing of the production line. 10% of the remaining stock, according to the company, is being held for warranty purposes. (I suspect to replace failing units that were used in the project in Spain by Scheuten.) I always questioned a 10% failure hold. My belief is that the rest of the GEN 1's, not used for warranty purposes, will be written off at some point. There was a question of missing or defective units already written off. Never explained by the company. I have a basement full of old technology that can't be sold. Off to the dump and a write off. I should have listened to my wife in the first place and sold it off when I could have at a discount.
I also suspect that, based on Reduce's great research and his find on a Chinese manufacture advertising STG's inverter right down to STG's images of it on a website in China, that the company ran into problems there.
I questioned the company at the time and was only told that that website belonged to their manufacturer of the inverter. Shortly after my inquiries, the website disappeared and I could not receive any response from the company as to the meaning of it. I have suspicions that the product may have been sold off contract but there is absolutely nothing to substantiate it. I also suspect that the company was unaware of it until Reduce found the website and I started to make inquiries.
However from what I learned recently from my trip to China , I found the Chinese do have a knack of producing quality knock offs, often of equal quality to the original product. Indiscreet usage of product patent violations are also quite acceptable in the country. C'est la vie. A way of life. A tough lesson for those experiencing it for the first time in business.
Regardless....history.
I am not a pumper ( but rather an optomist for the most part with the company) and regardless of the investment I hold, I am not afraid to DIS the company at times or question their approach or lack thereof. (I'm sure no one has noticed).
All of that aside, I am a firm believer that we have a winner and we will be coming topside very shortly. Bring it on! It is certainly overdue but well worth waiting for.
Exciting times and rewards ahead!
IMHO.
