response from Dorreen
response from DorreenI asked IR when we may have a report assessing the gas intercept, what that report may tell us about the possibility of oil in the flanks and what the status of the Sarqala 1 might be for later oil recovery.
Here is her response:
We are still working with Sproule on that assessment and I can’t predict timing on that news.
Ultimately, the only way to determine if oil is in the flanks is by drilling another well off the crest of the structure.
With respect to Sarqala-1, it is currently a suspended well. It is doubtful that we will be able to re-enter Sarqala and, ultimately, Sarqala will be ranked against all of our other prospects and leads in determining future drilling locations. Given the overpressure encountered at this well, Sarqala-1 appears to be one of the most difficult prospects to drill on our block and this will factor into our decision-making on a go forward basis.
