Story Time
Story TimeSince it is the weekend and no markets I will tell a story because some of you in box me and ask for a story now and again.
Before I moved to the coast in 64 I worked in the oil patch in Alberta. A FRIEND OF MINE who worked on the service rigs in the Red Deer area, it was winter time January very cold. I went to visit him in the hospital to see him on my days off, Wondering how he was doing after having an accident on a service rig.
He was drillers helper and was working away and before he knew it a crow bar that was dropped from above impaled his leg. The only thing that saved him was the cold weather it went right through his leg missing the bone.
I never went back to work after that there was just to many accidents on those old service rigs.
As soon as he got out of the hospital we headed for the coast.
On the way there hitch hiking we got a ride with an old prospector who was driving an old 53 Ford station wagon loaded with all his gear. He told us stories all the way to Vancouver his stories are what got me interested in becoming a Prospector. GLA especially to some of you die hards that are still panning and don't know when to quit, man your hands must be getting cold but the gold sure looks good in the bottom of your pan keep up the good work.
