HACKENSACK, NJ - Nestlé WatersNorth America has initiated a series of follow-on purchase orders toimplement I.D. Systems' PowerFleet Vehicle Management System (VMS) onfleets of industrial trucks at six plants in the U.S.

Nestlé Waters initially deployed the system at two sites during thesecond and third quarters of 2009.  The orders were placed by I.D.Systems' strategic marketing partner NACCO Materials Handling Group,Inc., a global manufacturer of industrial trucks, and facilitated byYale/Chase Equipment and Services, Inc.

"We are very excitedto begin rolling out this innovative technology across additionalfacilities to expand the benefits it brings to our supply chainorganization," said Chris Lyon of Nestlé Waters North America'sNational Fleet Services group.

Wireless Vehicle ManagementSystems can help improve material handling productivity by establishingaccountability for the use of equipment, ensuring equipment is in theproper place at the right time, streamlining material handling workflow, and providing unique metrics on equipment utilization. A wirelessVMS can also help reduce industrial fleet maintenance costs byautomatically uploading vehicle data, reporting vehicle problemselectronically, scheduling maintenance according to actual vehicleusage rather than by calendar or manual data entry, and helpingdetermine the optimal economic time to replace equipment. In addition,it can help improve workplace safety and security by restrictingvehicle access to trained, authorized operators, providing electronicvehicle inspection checklists, and sensing vehicle impacts.
