Wireless Vehicle ManagementSystems can help improve material handling productivity by establishingaccountability for the use of equipment, ensuring equipment is in theproper place at the right time, streamlining material handling workflow, and providing unique metrics on equipment utilization. A wirelessVMS can also help reduce industrial fleet maintenance costs byautomatically uploading vehicle data, reporting vehicle problemselectronically, scheduling maintenance according to actual vehicleusage rather than by calendar or manual data entry, and helpingdetermine the optimal economic time to replace equipment. In addition,it can help improve workplace safety and security by restrictingvehicle access to trained, authorized operators, providing electronicvehicle inspection checklists, and sensing vehicle impacts.
