RE: RE: RE: RE: Rumours Floating FWIW .....Agreed. No way of knowing anything until information becomes public. We also don't know at what stage larger ISP's are at with their infrastructure upgrades. If they are at the stage where they are in fact contemplating sandvine-like products and solutions, they are probably talking to Sandvine's competitors as well. Not sure if AT&T is at the stage of figuring out what it will do to upgrade its network - Caputo said during the investor briefing that AT&T won't be able to just stick Sandvine boxes in the network and voila, no more congestion. He said they'll need to upgrade the different parts of the network prior to adding an intelligence layer that Sandvine-like products would provide. So unless AT&T has been working on its infrastructure upgrade plan for some time now, it's unlikely AT&T is at a stage to consider the intelligence layer. I could be wrong of course but not sure AT&T is in a position to have serious discussions with respect to adding any intelligence layer in its upgraded network. I could definitely be wrong but I think this one is just a rumour.
bgdick, agreed Sandvine would probably love to let the market know of a specific customer win such as a NTT or a AT&T for example but until the net neutrality issue essentially goes away, I think most ISP's want to maintain their privacy. I think once the net neutrality issue is properly dealt with and there is more understanding as to what it is specifically what the Sandvine's are doing or not doing (ie. not inspecting content), ISP's will likely be more favourable to communicating it's association with Sandvine. On the other hand, if Sandvine did win a major customer, they'll probably provide info on the the # of subscribers. However, this info would probably give away the identity of the ISP so who knows if they'd even share that.
