Banker Bonuses To Rise 18%

Banker Bonuses To Rise 18%

Shareholders should be outraged.  How  'bout using some of the monies for something useful that will benefit shareholders for a change?  Two years ago the TD share price was over $73/share and now were sitting at under $65/share.  Where's the value for shareholders?  Unbelievable!

Canadian Banker Bonuses to Rise 18 Percent, Globe Reports

By Sean B. Pasternak

Dec. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Bonuses at the country’s six biggest banks will reach a record C$8.3 billion ($7.89 billion) this year, an 18 percent increase from the previous year, the Globe and Mail reported, citing an analysis by the newspaper.

Corporate and investment banking benefited from a rally in equity and credit markets, the newspaper said. None of the six lenders lost money in 2009.

Investment bankers’ compensation will increase “significantly” after having bonuses cut by as much as 50 percent last year, the Globe said.
