RE: why SU is downYou're correct gashole - this is the 2nd fire this year. Last one cut production for 2 weeks in late October. I don't know if people are sick of the stock for those reasons. My guess is the market is taking a wait & see approach to the merger, so it might take 1-2Q before the SP starts to rise.
I do remember last winter that SU was pretty much the only plant running during a cold snap. Even Syncrude was frozen up solid for 2 weeks, as were a lot of the refineries in Edmonton.
