RE: Prepaid Visa gears up for launchSorry, but again you are behind the curve...this not material, see my earlier post:
This is noise...will not move the needle. Why you ask:
1) "Launchedin October, 2005, in Ireland, 3V now has over400,000 customersandoperates in the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdomand Germany." -Ask yourself how many people are in Canada and do the math on adoption.
2)Why go for a virtual card when you can get a physical prepaidmastercard/visacard and use it only? Most people in my opinion will goafter the physical card.
3) Fees - Visa/MC have very high debitfees, and many merchants and opting out. Consumers also get dinged alot more than having a bank debit card. Yes, there are those who areunbanked, but refer to point 2 above.
more products is good, butlet's not get too exited. if someone pumps on the news dump...oh, Iforgot, one cannot trade yet or can they...
Lastly, prepaid Visa and MC have been around a long time...Datawave (First Data) has been selling them before Doug was even CEO, and when Vendtek was 2 cent stock.
