RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Lanesborough REIT to pay speciAlkhor:
I want to thank you again. You saved me more than few bucks in tax dollars.  An hour ago I got off the phone with Gino. It is exactly how you said it is. When talking to Gino, I asked him what is the benefit of this move to the unit holders. He said that the more debt they will repay the more there should be in shareholders value. He seemed to brush of the fact, that we the shareholders will be holding the bag  (i.e. will pay the tax on the gain we will not really have)
Having said all that, I am still puzzled why the share price went up today, even though you gave a very good explanation about people not realizing the fact that they will have to come up with taxes. Honestly,  the LREIT should have been more transparent about the tax consequences. I sold all my cash holdings. Kept my registered holdings tough. Hopefully Gino's theory about creating more value by shifting tax burden from LREIT to unit holders will really come true. History shows diferently, but I hope this time he is right, and we the unitholders will finally get rewareded for all this pain and suffering we endured during the last year.
