Solution costs from KCL website front pagePotash One's portfolio of exploration permits cover a total of 515,000 acres in Saskatchewan's potash-rich basin, northwest of Regina, which presently supplies one-third of the world's demand for this essential food-growing nutrient. This includes the 100% owned 97,240 acre
Legacy Project which has a NI 43-101 compliant Indicated
Mineral Resource of 222 million tonnes of K2O and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 852 million tonnes of K2O.
The Legacy Project is adjacent to the world's largest producing potash solution mine (Mosaic's Belle Plaine) and is now in the feasibility stage of development. The fully financed Feasibility Study is expected to be completed in mid 2010 and will provide a comprehensive overview of all aspects of the project.
In June 2009, a team of internationally-respected consultants reported favorable results on the Legacy Project in the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), including the following projections:
Initial Mine Life | 40 years |
Annual Potash Production | 2.5 million tonnes/year of KCL |
Estimated Capital Cost | $1.877 billion USD |
After-tax payback period | 3.3 years |
Estimated after-tax and royalty IRR | 30.1% |
Estimated Net Present Value (NPV) after tax (10% discount rate) | $4.47 billion USD |
