Yes, It's a Target!Very...uh...interesting comments over the las couple of days, a couple of which I'd like to comment upon.
Xstrata??? Someone mentioned a tie with sxl, partnering? SLAM owns 100% of all its deposits and all but one of its properties - that being Opikeigan which it has a JV with Bard. The fact that it owns all of the Nash Creek deposit, as well as Costigan (another similar deposit), Nepisiguit (11m of 6% zinc and silver) and the Reserve Creek Gold deposit which is close to being outlined (this year?), and is trading at a such low market cap relative to the value of these deposits, particularly Nash Creek do make it a prime takeover target, but definitely not Xstrata who are elephant hunters.
An analyst I know at Octagon Capital says that these juniors (and there's been a number already in Canada) have become prime targets of many Chinese firms that are tieing up supply. They take advantage of low share prices of juniors with prime deposits that are too cash strapped to develop them independently.
Whether it be foreign firms or domestic, I believe that SLAM will eventually form a JV to develop Nash Creek and possibly advance more of its properties forward. When this happens, all of the current chatter, sp predictions and current bullboard participants will probably be a distant memory, as will this low sp.
