RE: RE: link to october report from API

RE: RE: link to october report from APISubmitting an EIS is more then a two step process.
Step 1:  Company submits project proposal to Sask Environment (API completed in Feb 08)
Step 2:  Sask Environment reviews project proposal and decides if an EIS is necessay.  If they deem it necessary then they will issue project specific quidlines back to the company (API issued PSGs in July 2008)
Step 3:  Company formally submits EIS to Sask Environment (API sumitted in summer 2009)
Step 4:  Sask Environment  reviews EIS and if there are deficiencies, comments are provided back to the company
Step 5:   Company makes changes to the EIS and then re-submits to Sask Environment
Step 6:  Sask Environment makes EIS available to public for one month.  The public can review and comment and if necessary the company may have to revisit the EIS document
Step 7:  If public has no comments then Sask Environment will make a recommendation to the government
Step 8:  Ministerial decision is made on whether the project can go ahead.

You can follow the progress at https://www.environment.gov.sk.ca/Default.aspx?DN=4f6a45a7-9dd2-4b6e-bb8d-84bb1604431c

Sammyboy,  I have to disagree with you about when an EIS is formally submitted.  I think it is considered submitted when the government receives it (Step 3), not when it is made public for review.  That is my opinion.......
