WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Bunge Limited today confirmed that it is engaged in discussions with Vale S.A. regarding Vale's potential acquisition of Bunge's assets in Brazil relating to its fertilizer mining business, including its interest in Fertilizantes Fosfatados S.A. (Fosfertil).

Fosfertil disclosed these discussions earlier today, as required by applicable Brazilian regulation. There can be no assurance that they will result in any transaction or that any transaction will be consummated.

Bunge does not intend to comment on any specific discussions or any potential transaction unless and until it enters into a definitive agreement with respect to a transaction.
