RE: RE: PEM a GEMTo 2010olympics1. Actually it is usually preferable to have higher grade near the surface because it is better to mine the highest grades first. This allows you to reach payback earlier. In typical bulk tonnage prospects, you mine from top to bottom so you definitely want high grade at the top/surface.
If it is an underground mine, the story is different. The company can set up shafts to reach the ore pockets on the most economic timetable. In PEM's case however, I think it will not be an underground project.
