Joining the SDI investor communityI bought some SDI shares the other day. Seems like a very good opportunity for a patient investor. I decided to retire from investing in junior oil/gas E&P companies and try Biotech in its place. Similar dynamics to E&P.
However, I also bought some shares of MS, which will soon own almost 50% of SDI. My math says MS's share price (after paying for SDI) is about equal to their cash per share. So you get their SDI holding for free. Now MS has to find other investments like SDI to use up the rest of their cash. Or buy back their own stock. MS has turned into a venture capital firm I think. Since there is no MS bull board, I have not heard this discussed.
Is buying MS a cheaper way to buy SDI? I cannot figure this one out. Anyone from the investment banking business here?
