Anyone familiar with ....

Anyone familiar with ....Does anybody know if anonymous and the market maker have anything in common? I have always had only a hazy understanding of how a market maker works, and I don't really know, but I think this is a classic shaking of the tree. If anybody could elaborate on this kind of stuff it would be much appreciated.
