Please, tell me what the difference is between buying a stock you think is underpriced and shorting one you think is overpriced? Do you think there's some inherenatly more honourable quality to buying then selling? With comments like that, it's not wonder you're losing money in the markets.
And if you want to avoid eating dinner with anybody who's gone short, then you should probably steer clear of pretty much any investor who knows what they're doing.
As for naked shorting, it's never been allowed for stocks on the TSX, and it certainly isn't now. I doubt you even know what that is, however.
