RE: Interesting ............

RE: Interesting ............ They've got to think about something and write a report to justify their salary and their existence so they take a contrarian view to try to stir up interest in what they have to say. Just the other side of the story and this one doesn't impress. Note that he states that very few reactors started in recent years and nuclear energy as a percentage of  global energy production has actually retreated since 2001. Started ? Construction? What does he mean? All I know is that there have been quite a few governments that have declared their intentions to build nuclear plants and are now in the planning stages.{forget Saskatchewan,it's small potatoes] And if nuclear energy has retreated percentagewise that's only because the world economy and total energy requirements along with it has expanded considerably since 2001. Nuclear energy will lag behind until planned reactors are started, completed and put into service. Much of the early stage decision making and planning  has been decided upon more or less in the past 8-10 year period and construction of reactors is being 'started' and will continue. The arguments used seem to be the same old ones used for years as reasons not to go nuclear and they just don't hold water.
