SO WHAT ! BOTTOM LINE - $0.70

SO WHAT ! BOTTOM LINE - $0.70 I don't know how many times I've heard  talking heads like Mark Bunting of BNN make comment on details contained in a company report similar to what he apparently did. According to my take going by what I've read here as I didn't watch the show, what was said is no different than usual  which is to comment or explain what is accounted for to arrive at the final EPS declared in the financial report. All he did as I understand it was to comment that the EPS would have been lower if such and such wasn't included. He didn't claim that it should or it shouldn't .  In that regard I've heard the figure
.52 or
.53.  In no way is that different from similar comments I've heard in the past when someone is reporting on a financial statement and in no way does that detract from Teck's reported EPS of
.70 and it does not mean that there has been a mistake made or that some kind of sharp practice has been attempted. It may be a one time thing but even that doesn't matter because earnings anticipated by analysts prior to release of financial reports include those things in their calculations to arrive at an estimated EPS. The bottom line is that Teck earned
.70 per share and that will be reflected in the considerable SP increase tomorrow and in following days.
