A-SIAn interesting read.
https://www.solarfeeds.com/greentech-media/11028-amorphous-silicon-pv-dont-count-it-out
Of note is mention of 2 of our partners in ventures......
Signet and Nexpower. What isn't mentioned is that efficiencies are lab based only and not based on actual field efficiencies taking into account shading by clouds, obstructions and snow, which are all important especially when considering Sunergy and TF parallel. That story is developing but as one can see, project after project announced are using
A-SI Thin Film as is the Peterborough one posted by Reduce.
A-SI is going to play a major part in both solar farms and roof top installations around the world.
By the way Reduce, that Peterborough solar initiative is a 10 minute drive from my home base. I will be using some of that grid power.
I will definitely be spending some time watching that one go up. Wish it could be
Sunergy but roof top is really our forte.
EPOD uses A-SI panels along with
their own 10 kw high voltage inverter. Their A-Si panels came into being when they bought out
OPTI SOLAR last year. Definitely an up- an- coming company.
I don't think this comes under FIT. I would think it is pre-FIT and will not fulfill, like other recent solar farms, the requirements. The subidies will be other, as far as I can see. No mention of FIT in any release.
