It is extremely clear to me why teh defense would support a local company rather than one from another country. You have to realise that the risk of threat comming from all possible sources is taken extremely seriously. This was seen in computer imports where a ban was done on japanese super-computer imports. This is also being done, progressively, with Toyota and  I would not be surprised the same thing was done to Noveko. The US will do anything and everything they can to block foreign technology.

So, patent or no patent, MDG is off the US defense list and will never make it big in the US despite Morris's influence.
