RE: Investing Article SMI mentionHere's the blub instead of slooging through.
Keep your eye on the Province of Saskatchewan in Canada. There is a geological feature in the middle of the Province that resembles a basin of sorts. Million of years ago in something like the Jurassic Period this low lying area was part of a shallow marine environment. Today, this area is gaining recognition as a source of coal.
In 2008, exploration firm Goldsource Mines (TSXv:GSX) made the first discovery which sparked one of the wildest property staking rushes the Province of Saskatchewan has ever seen.
Another of the players I have been following in this area is Saturn Minerals which trades in Canada on the TSX Venture as "SMI".
Here is a snippet from a recent press release...
Vancouver, Dec 21, 2009 - Saturn Minerals and partner Swift Resources have interseccted a 10.35 meter thick coal seam at a depth of 112 meters at the companies' "Armit" project near the town of Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan.
The upper 9.74 meters of this intersection contains continuous coal with no mineral partings. A minor 1.26 meter thick coal seam was also intersected at a depth of 102.7 meters.
Keep an eye on Saturn Minerals. The current drilling program is just getting underway. At this time of writing, Saturn is trading at around the 14 cent level. A sustained move over 16 cents will signal a serious move is getting underway...
