PDAC Participation ProblemI have to admit I was a bit peeved to read the post about the PDAC booth -- I was thinking ("so here we go again"). I contacted Mark directly and he called me back promptly. He was at the PDAC show until yesterday working contacts etc.
The participation in PDAC core shack was a unfortunate mess. OX originally intendedto participate with OSK, but the drilling on site has been generating alot of core samples which are backing up in OX's own core shack in NovaScotia. In addition, the weather is warming (we've had several "large" days here) and the ground is thawinga bit earlier than normal, so last week OSK decided they really wantedthe geologists to stay on site in Goldboro to get as much drilling finishedbefore the ground thawed out...otherwise they would be looking at delays on drillingwhile they wait for the ground to firm up enough that the drilling rigscould move around. As a result OSK decided to keep the geologists andteam on-site in NS to complete the core sampling and continue the drilling.Mark said he asked the PDAC folks to remove them from the core shackdisplay and take down the sign etc. but they didn't do this. He isdisappointed that he and OSK couldn't make it work, but says thatthey will be there next year with a lot of core to show and a good story to talk about.
A few other updates to questions people have posed here.
- Lots of drilling is completed. The drilling has intercepted the known gold bearing zones as expected.
- The samples have visible gold as in the past.
- Results will be released as they come in from the labs (not going to be held up until everything is done)
- OSK is working on the regional survey as indicated in the last press release
- Reinforced that OSK views NS as a new mining camp with OX as a significant partner.
