Could be that for a company the size of G, coming in just over analyst expectations is a very good thing. Means they know exactly what they are doing as a business, and that results are predictable. Everyone likes to see a company beat expectations, but sometimes it means they don't necessarily have a good handle on their business if surprises like that can occur. Only tomorrow will tell whether the market likes it or not, but if you read all the stuff about production growth and their plan to grow ozs by over 50%, seems like being predictable bodes well for the ability of the company to do what they say they are going to do.
