RE: Shout out to the Philosopher Kings......To be fair none of these allegations has anything to do with our company or any research or work involving ISA. As to the lack of oversight by NSERC, the fact that he was caught indicates there is oversight. NSERC does careful work in funding new proposals. In this case Kwok's research generated re-funding because the systems in place for evaluating on-going research - publications in particular and the number of personel involved fit established criteria. In makes no sense to go back to scratch every year before re-funding research. If the research pays dividends than that merits re-funding - normally. The fact that this research was conducted unethically, that publications may have been plagiarized, and that funds may have been used for personal gain is extraordinary. I was involved in research for many years in University and Government labs and never in those years came across anything like this.
