RE: RE: Communications
RE: RE: CommunicationsI'm happy to talk to anyone Don. Thanks for the support. The 3D industry is very fast paced now. I did have it on Google alerts, but I was getting so much information that I was getting swamped. The major TV manufacturers have fully committed to producing 3D-ready flat screens in large volumes, and I believe there truly is a confluence now of positive factors that will ensure 3D will become a major part of home and movie theatre entertainment, and, of course, computer games. There will be bumps in the road, and I think one of the major ones will be a shortage of suitable 3D material. Also, cost of post-production and comfort factor of the 3D will be very important. Isee3D's technology proved how sublimely comfortable the imaging was in arthroscopy, laparoscopy and ENT procedures on live humans in the 90s. When I wasn't in the OR, I was shooting 3D video of insects and spiders with 10mm, and smaller, rigid endoscopes. That experience then convinced me there would, ultimately, be a market for animal kingdom material as well as Indie and mainstream movies. Camcorders could be the killer app. Wearing glasses seems to be less of a worry for those under 35. Withjin 5-8 years I think autostereoscopic screens will be good enough to go mainstream. As a glasses wearer, I am used to clip-on sunglasses, so clip-on 3D glasses probably aren't far behind. Anyway, everyone have a great weekend.
