Azure Dynamics Corp AZDDQ

Azure Dynamics Corporation (Azure) is engaged in the development and sale of electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) systems and components. HEV systems include an electric motor, an energy storage system (batteries or ultracapacitors), and an additional power source, such as an internal combustion engine/generator. An EV does not include the additional power source and only includes an electric motor and an energy storage system. It has four wholly owned subsidiaries: Azure Dynamics Inc., Azure Dynamics Incorporated, Azure Dynamics Corporation of America and Azure Dynamics Limited. Azure has developed electric and hybrid electric drive technologies for the light to heavy duty commercial vehicle category (the Technology). Azure has developed three primary product groups, which include full hybrid electric; mild hybrid electric; and pure electric solutions. Target markets include hybrid electric delivery vans and shuttle buses, as well as electric drive applications.

Who will be the Partner?

Who will be the Partner?

I suspect it will be Magna but AM General seems like a good fit, a previous relationship existed

"Azure Dynamics US has been working with AM General for three years on the development of hybrid vehicle and APDS technology and we are pleased to be continuing this collaboration with the parallel hybrid HMMWV program," said Mark Federle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Integrating hybrid technology into tactical vehicles can reduce fuel consumption and enhance vehicle functionality and by adding APDS technology increased field power requirements can be met while simultaneously eliminating the need to transport additional power generation equipment," said Federle”

  • AM General’s engineering is just a short distance from Azure’s,
  • With the demise of the Hummer they are probably a little hungry
  • They have a plant in Flint MI (Previous news said the facility would be in MI)
  • They also have connections in Europe
  • They are also partnered up with SEV (a previous customer of Azures)and since the Transit connect went to Azure there may be some added value I still think SEV US have that relationship on the USPS LLV

Anyone have other candidates let’s hear them it should not be long before we get the companies PR on the issue.
