alphatrader82FVR can get the contract & NKW not because the first round were smaller interior based projects closer to traditional power generating & storage facilities (there is one near Tumbler Ridge); SAIC was FVR's partner - a major USA defense contractor (think maybe for their tidal energy business plan)

the engineering aspects of wind turbines are such that distance to power generating facilities are the limiting factor, and NKW is frankly in the middle of nowhere; therefore, we all know that we lose power of line distance more than anything, but I still maintain that this is the only large scale project that can put BC into the "Beautiful BC" spotlight that it boasts, and we will look like fools to not qualify to sell to California in summertime

so even if NKW costs higher than three or four times .06 per kilowatt hour this project would still be less than 5% of BC's power capabilities (phase one NKW) and the relative increase in BC Hydro rates get absorbed by the mathematics of the other cheaper produced 95% let alone BC Hydro already announced a 10% rate hike and this will continue for the next few years (Burrard Thermal obselete is our other clue along with Kevin Junger appointed to energy & clean tech ministry - recently formed ministry) in order to pay for the more expensive clean power (Kevin got us our EA approval last Decemeber and he was moved from EA office to deputy of the new energy & clean tech ministry)

bottom line is it doesn't appear that BC Hydro has announced the remainder of the 2500MW projects , so chances are ok still
