$1,600 Gold is delusional?

I thought it would be nice to see Nickelback last week.  Tickets cost around $150.  Had a few beers $10 per glass (341 ml.) = $30 / litre or $136./ Gal.

Bought some groceries for the family for the week - there goes $330.  Filled up the truck at the station and got soaked for another $165. (that should last me about 6 days)

Got a fiacking parking ticket downtown ($52 - BTW last year was $42) while meeting with my lawyer ($300/hr + tx).

Had to buy shoes for the kids (7 yrs and younger) $24.95/pair = $110.

Needed a gallon of quality paint to spruce up a room $45.

Bought 4 glow plugs for my Kubota diesel tractor $460.

The computer tech streamlined my computer for me $90/hr.

Went to the movies (2 tickets) and bought 1 large popcorn and 1 large Coke = $39.

I was stuck downtown and needed a cab ride home $80.

A new decent 4 x 4 pickup truck with some bells and whistles runs about $45,000.

My buddy bought some "designer" jeans (obviously he's not married and no kids) that cost him $150.

A hairdo and coloring for the ladies runs about $100. (Let's not even mention the lipstick, foundation, perfume etc.)

The contractor estimated me $3000 for a job that involved $800. in materials and a MODERATE amount of work.

So all in all, I guess you're right.  I must be delusional to think that gold coulkd hit $1,600!  Nevermind that the sleazebag governments of the world created over 15 Trillion dollars of currency at the push of a button over the last 18 months.
